Kelsey has worked in print media since she was a teenager, but her passion for publishing probably started with the first take-your-daughter-to-work day, when she toured the hallowed halls of her father’s newspaper as a child.

It wasn’t until her third year at UBC, however, that she realized she was in the wrong field of study, and began swapping out the science lab for hands-on experience in the newsroom. Ten years later, her stories on fashion, lifestyle and the arts have won national awards, and she has worked for one of Australia’s largest daily community newspapers, in the head office of Canada’s largest independent newspaper chain, interned with one of the province’s most decorated newsrooms, and served as the arts and style editor of Vancouver’s longest-running alt-weekly, the Westender, for nearly five years.

She is now editor of the Westender, as well as editor-in-chief of the luxury lifestyle magazine VITA, and its sister digital publication, VITA Daily.
